Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD MICHAEL SMITH May 7, 1957 - February 16, 2010 It is with saddened hearts that we say good-bye to our brother, uncle and friend, Richard Michael Smith who passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the age of 52. He was predeceased by his mother Norah; father Jim and sister Linda. Rick is survived by his brother Terry (Tracey); brother-in-law Jim; niece Jennifer (Jay); nephew Gord and nieces Bailey and Kelly. Rick (Skip) was born and raised in Winnipeg. He grew up first in St. Boniface and then the family moved to Westwood. When Rick became an engineer he bought his house out in Charleswood where he lived out his life. Trains were Rick's passion and he spent his entire adult life as an engineer for Canadian Pacific Railway. He enjoyed countless hours at the Prairie Dog Central making friends, driving the train and showing off to his two young nieces, Bailey and Kelly. He loved spending time working on his model train that he even brought to a school to share with a class of young students. He was a great uncle who enjoyed spending time playing with Bailey and Kelly at birthdays, Christmas and other special occasions. The girls always looked forward to his visits. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vintage Locomotive Society in memory of Skip Smith . Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
